Hmmm look at the recent takeovers, 3-4 years...

I'm saying Birmingham and Wrexham amongst others, we will just be another team in the limelight.... oooh they mean business

It's probably gonna take 3,4 or even 5 years to get back up premier league unfortunately 😕

Look how other teams are throwing the cash around but achieving nothing.

Brentford,  Brighton  Bournemouth... are the teams to look upto now

We just want to be stable and build sensibly this time 😊

Business valuation is based on future earnings not current.  Assume we can bounce back with the right management and modest investment and we could look a bargain.

Football often defies normal business practices, but you have to be able prove / plan that future valuation and our trajectory is sharply in the opposite direction. Anyone buying won’t just assume a ‘bounce back’ is happening, they will be looking at the numbers now.  Costs are also taken into consideration, and again it seems like we have loans bursting through every orifice.

But again, normal rules don’t apply. This sport loves the phrase ‘sleeping giant’. I maintain that our club is so much more marketable than it currently is. Maybe a potential suitor sees this? Or maybe someone’s up for a game of asset stripping.

I feel with the stories coming out this might be quite far down the line. Might not have to wait too long before we find out.

Perhaps this is why Rudkin, Kevin Davies and Anthony were all rewarded with promotions to roles that would guarantee them a very healthy bonus payment / dividend in the event of a club sale…..

They don’t need promotions for that to happen, they would either need equity or something contractual that’s performance related . I presume this is just Tops blind loyalty at play.

We need to be better than this. Tell them to **** if if they are morally dubious in any way.

Unfortunately we are a business and we are just the customers. I don’t think we have a real say in who owns us realistically lol

It would need to pass the scrutiny of the Independent Football Regulator too

Have they rejected anyone yet?

Doing some very, very basic research (sitting in my pants searching for Middle Eastern firms)……

The firm that stands out to me are
International holding company

https://www.ihcuae.com

Closely linked to them is the “royal group”

Who are chaired by https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tahnoun_bin_Zayed_Al_Nahyan_(national_security_advisor)

Their principle ownership is the Abu Dhabi royal family, the only sticking point is they’re worth £300 billion….. which would make us the wealthiest club in the world….. which makes this highly unlikely and a pipe dream.

I flagged these as well. Prince Al Nahyan. I think it gets complicated due to the ties with Manchester City through the City Group. Unless they wanted to use us as a bit of a feeder club until we were in a position to get back into the Premier League / achieved promotion, then re-sold / restructured so we are not conflicting with each other.

They can plan to bounce back.  If they didn’t believe they could they wouldn’t be buying a football club.  They will point to Sunderland, Birmingham etc.

I've still not managed to find comfort that we are an attractive proposition given the circumstances we have found ourselves in.

Even as we try and get our house in order under whatever financial rules we come under, cash flow and going concern is a major obstacle I don't see how we overcome without us basically falling in to administration which is awful business and no guarantee we get to rise from the ashes.

Administration brings horrendous implications to people involved at the club and the community but the ownership have far less ability to get a valuation for what they are " owed " that reflects what they put in or think a club is worth. Other creditors also face the unfortunate outcome of not getting everything they are owed and whilst we are not completely privy to our massive credit facilities with Macquarie, that relationship and cycle we are in is why I struggle to see how we can be prosperous again any time soon.

The vast sales we have made and still need to make is highly likely to be our last summer of having the requisite players to be able to command such fees to keep the club going and again that further questions the true value of this club beyond a nice shiny training ground that costs obscene wedge to run and a run of the mill stadium. We are relying on a healthy number of bright academy prospects performing at a lower league next season and getting us promoted or building a reputation big enough for us to command similar fees to what the likes of Monga has gone for this sunmer and Kasey the year before.

At some point when we get even more vulnerable, clubs are going to take such players for far less and then it really is game over.

I hope i'm wrong, but I remain convinced we will be perilously close to going bust in the next 18 months.

With that in mind any potential buyer would probably see better value in picking us up cheaper in administration, they can wait it out. And if KP takes the delusional Chansiri stance, we very much will repeat the slow painful path of Sheffield Wednesday.

I think that’s the attraction of Leicester for many investors personally. Planning permission has already been approved for a stadium expansion.

With regards to Seagrave, stage of the art training facilitates seem to be a given with US and Saudi investors now days. If you can get Seagrave for £50-£75m, you’ve automatically saved anywhere from £50-£100m having to invest in a facility yourself.

Being a one club city is a big draw for investors too.

You forgot having the most passive supporters in the country who will allow them to do whatever they want without as much as a wagged finger.

We are talking about the valuation though.

Really don’t see ME investment as a goer right now. They’ve  stopped any new investment into foreign assets since the Iran War.

Who is "they", we don't even know what Middle East means in this context.

Everyone's assuming it's some oil rich gulf state, it could be some tech or banking billionaire from Lebanon or Syria that hasn't actually been based there since the 90s.

It could be an Israeli shipping or real estate billionaire.

It's literally "unnamed Middle Eastern firm", could mean anything? Even Turkey and Egypt get in most definitions.

Agree. I work in Marine Insurance and the financial losses being suffered by the Arabic Oil and Gas Companies make Rudkin's recent financial handywork seem like losing change down the back of a sofa.  Oil and Gas drives everything in the UAE/QATAR.

They haven't stopped at all. Money is still very much flowing especially into US and Europe. However more cautious in their approach and a reshuffling and rebalancing of portfolio's. However that latter point would suggest a splurge of cash into a sports company would be less of a cautious investment at the moment and with the pull out from LIV golf may be a good indication that some of those that dream of the oil money may be out of luck.

who is actually running king power at the moment - making the big calls ?  That matters

and if administration is truly a possibility within 18 months then the incentive to sell at any price above 100m becomes relevant.

Don't want to be a bearer of bad news but reports out here in Thailand are it's all fake news.

Hope they are wrong,

Depends how we look at it - either Thai press quashing rumours they're struggling financially or it actually isn't a thing

People really jumping the gun here. We might not even be for sale. If we are we have no idea who is interested, no idea who this Middle Eastern interest is. Personally I think rumours will be quashed by king power and this is false dawn. That not knowledge, just feeling.

if we are exploring as the report suggests, we could be years away from it actually happening. Everyone slow down.

Not read all the thread but apologies if its been repeated.

No one really knows whats going on as its came out of the blue.

There was a middle eastern consortium sniffing around Bristol City and Derby not so long back so it could lean towards them.

Who they are and what their credentials are, i have no idea.
