They could as they have a much easier route to the final so could be in better shape. If they played today France would win

I don’t know about that, with the Germans going out.

France potential route is: Paraguay, Morocco, Spain.

Argentina is Cape Verde, Australia, Colombia, Brazil or England.

I think I’d prefer France’s path.

How you've come to that conclusion I have no idea

Paraguay and Australia are about on the same level.

Id say Morocco are a better team than Colombia, but Colombia will give Argentina a much more physical encounter than Morocco will. I would imagine they both get through, but in terms of tournament football  and preserving players for the bigger games, I’d rather play Morocco than Colombia.

The semi, again both get through if they are firing, but the derby nature and the physicality of a match against Brazil in a World Cup semi, will be tougher than a game against Spain where both teams will knock the ball around and give each other a good game, but won’t be nearly as physical.

In terms of sheer quality, Morocco and Spain is a tougher route, but in terms of getting through fit and well, I think I’d rather be in France’s shoes.

Only team that will stop  France themselves if they get a bit complacent but doubt they will.

I still want to see them up against one of the better midfields in the tournament. They should still be very dangerous in transition, but they haven’t been challenged yet really, they’ve been allowed to be ball dominant and pick teams apart. Nobody has challenged that double pivot yet, which imo is far from the best in the tournament.

Morocco vs France would be a very interesting one. If they are brave enough, Morocco do have the technical ability in midfield to over power that 2 for France. But then the idea of Diop against that France attack is amusing…

True .

Just think you need a quick alert defence against those front 4 as they are so fast and move everywhere.

I guess Spain if they play  each other could just keep possession better and Argentina obviously have their own attacking stars .

But France seem so fluid and full of confidence.

I think it's really stacked a bit against England in this tournament. We're not a bad team, but the circumstances are poor. Essentially two away games follow DR Congo (assume Norway get knocked out), and then likely a fresh Argentina, and probably France in the final who have come through an easier route to get there than we have.

I think if we make the semis we have done very well. If we win it with that route it's a genuinely immense effort, and I think that'll be beyond us.
