Admittedly, I’ve only watched highlights but Otchere looks much more accomplished than Hutchinson - the latter needs a loan.

 

Hutchinson’s decision making and his execution just didn’t look near where it needs to be. There was a shot he had blocked where he was just completely unaware the defender was closing him down, could be an isolated incident but you get away with that in youth football.

 

Otchere already has more maturity to his game.

Hope we dont use him as a stop gap, putting him in positions where we don't have anybody else and stunting his growth. I'd rather have Mavididi on the RW and tell him to take his fullback on, instead of always cutting inside onto his right foot and losing the ball.

It's a training exercise. I understand the hate for Faes because he's a disgrace, but Thomas is likely to be here next season. I don't see a problem with giving a player some extra responsibility to see how they do, it won't have a massive bearing on the season.

I wonder whether Martin is assigning a different Captain each half to give them a taste of responsibility in order to drive standards. That might appear to align with what we've read about his approach so far.
